Tea Time Editorial + Monique Lhuillier

Monday, December 19th, 2011

There are so many gorgeous images that Kirsten of Beaux Arts Photographie shot for the Tea Time Editorial that I had to share them. The lovely Hannah of Monique Lhuillier was kind enough to let me borrow two amazing dresses, truly a Rachel Zoe ” I die” kind of moment.

This stunner is “Giada” from the Spring 2011. The beading details on this dress is insane in person.

The second dress was “Winter” from fall 2010. I was very happy to get this dress, it was part of the first Monique Lhuillier bridal show I’d ever attended in 2009. Here it is styled with a simple chain necklace and punched metal earrings, all from 33 Jewels.

We styled it a couple of different ways, here it is with a black hat and layered bohemian jewelry.

I love these Egyptian necklaces…

And of course, my dog, Mira, had to get in the picture.

And here she is again running with model, Eva St. Denis, around Rancho Dos Pueblos’ huge magnolia tree… Big thank you to Monique Lhuillier for letting us borrow these stunning wedding dresses!

The tea time shoot I designed & produced with Tricia Fountaine is up on Ruffled! Go check it out here.

Set in one of the old green house at Dos Pueblos, my inspiration was 1910 England.

We brought the story to life with a wardrobe mix of vintage dresses and some insane Monique Lhuillier wedding gowns.

It was so much fun to design… Enjoy!

Special thanks to the incredible vendor team:

This is exactly why I own so many shoes.

gemvara1

Today I’m so excited to share Gemvara Jewelry! I love engagement rings that use colored stones versus a regular diamond. Emeralds happen to be one of my favorite stones, how simple and classic are these rings?

gemvara2

Of course, there’s nothing as dramatic as a black engagement ring.

gemvara5

A simple set sapphire in a gold band or sapphire plus diamonds is another colorful and unique option.

gemvara4

Red is such a vibrant color and I think ruby is such and unexpected and fun stone for an engagement ring. I’m particularly loving the one of the left, it has almost a vintage Edwardian feel to it. You can check out more that Gemvara offers right here. Happy jewelry shopping!

Anthropologie Wedding Line: BHLDN

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

bhldn_2

I am so in love with Anthropologie’s wedding line, BHLDN (beholden). The dresses are to die for; I’m obsessed with the one on the left. Tea length, scallop hemline, illusion neckline all with a distinct art deco flair? Amazing!

bhldn_1

I also love the sweet eyelet dress. Perfect for a beach ceremony or a bohemian wedding. Also, the three dimensional quality of the gray pleated dress is so modern and chic.

bhldn_3

Of course, then there are the shoes. The shoes are INSANE. I’m dying for the center shoe, it might need to come home with me like, today.

bhldn_4

The clutches are equally as stunning. The art deco inspired one on the left is perfection (can you tell I love anything art deco?).

And from subtle, and sweet, to over the top drama, the head pieces are spot on. To check out more click right here. Happy Shopping!

I’m loving these 20′s inspired headpieces by Jannie Baltzer. I love the color of both pieces and the ostridge feather and the delicate pearl work on the left headpiece is so darn pretty.

jannie_baltzer2

Of course, if you’re looking for a little more drama, the black headpieces are amazing too (plus you can wear it after your wedding). Check out more at Jannie Baltzer shop here.

Paper Art, Holly Aiken

Okay, not exactly made out of paper, but these designs are so fun!

I like how she layers the different colors of leather – it gives a great texture to the solid colors.

Go check out her store, Stitch, in Raleigh, NC! I spent over an hour looking at all her cool products!

tiffanypalomapicassoheartstudeearrings

Everyone at Santa Barbara Chic knows I love Tiffany & Co…so much so that I once did a research project on the infamous jewelry company for a college term paper. It’s not wonder, than, that Tiffany’s is the first place I look to find the best in wedding and bridal jewelry. These amazing 18k gold Paloma Picasso heart statement studs are the perfect bridal accessories for the woman looking to exude elegance without all the glitz and sparkle. And, as with any Tiffany’s statement piece, you’ll have numerous opportunities to wear these  earrings again and again for special occasions over the course of your marriage! It’s ironically a perfect match for my favorite heart ring (and first glitzpick post on Santa Barbarara Chic):

Picture 4

These would make a perfect duo (and Tiffany’s…I’m still a size 5 ring)! Get these amazing bridal jewelry pieces, here and here.
