tashaflowerstatement_nordstrom copy

I love this Tasha Flower bib necklace from Nordstrom! Most bib necklaces of the season are big and chunky from top to bottom, but this piece fades from a soft statement of fabric/tulle florals and gold/pearl pendants to delicate crystals and chain. Love, Love, Love! Nordstrom has similar styles in similar colors, making this statement necklace part of the perfect bridal party collection. Check it out, here.

tiffanyandco

I have been known to say that every bride needs a little Tiffany & Co. in her life. But, if you’ve seen the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you can perhaps understand why I was so drawn to this classic jeweler for today’s featured Glitzpick, especially as we in the wedding industry are dealing with the craziness of life, called: “busy-season”. And, while this 24k gold bold statement earring set is perhaps a little pricey for some brides, the beauty of these Jean Schlumberg pink spinel and diamond ear clips were just too brilliant and breathtaking and timeless to dismiss. Wouldn’t these make an amazing wedding gift from…say… your husband-to-be? What about that once-in-a-lifetime thank you gift for the often over-looked, mother-of-the-bride? Available here.

Jose&MariaBarrera_beadbibnecklace

I know what you’re thinking-this gorgeous Jose & Maria Barrera necklace is a little more bold in color that what I normally choose in my weekly glitzpick. But…this beaded bib with 24 karot yellow gold plating was just too unique to pass-up, and I couldn’t wait to show it off to every summer bride out there (especially those looking to add a magnificent statement piece to your wedding day attire). Wouldn’t this necklace be a perfect compliment to a Santa Barbara Mediterranean-style wedding? You could even pair this with a long black beach dress, and wear it to dinner on your honeymoon. Ole’! GhostShip_esty_Worr#2362752

For the bride who loves antiques, this Victorian-inspired sea glass “WorryLocket” from GhostShip, an eco-friendly sea glass & artisan jewelry store on Etsy, is the perfect wedding necklace. According to owner & designer Kyra Crilly, sea glass usually comes from old vintage glass medicine jars and spirit bottles tossed overboard by fishermen decades ago. The more common colors are white, amber and green, but sea glass can also be found in rare colors such as blue, lime, yellow, orange and red. This beautifully crafted necklace above was modeled after worry beads from ancient Greece, which were carried around to relieve stress and anxiety (talk about a great thing to have for wedding day!).  The 18″, .925 sterling silver chain with Victorian style clasp is filled with genuine vintage sea glass reclaimed from Canadian shores. Be sure to check out GhostShip‘s website for more stunning pieces, and StellinaStellina later today with an Santa Barbara Chic glitzpick inspiration board.

MagnoliaCollection_#233AFD3

The minute I saw these gorgeous citrine briolete drop earring from Magnolia Collection, I was immediately transfixed on the idea of modern-Hollywood-glamour. Think 10-piece band in white coats, passed champagne in rose colored glasses, with hundreds of starlet guests all convened at the gorgeous Art Deco designed LA Union Station. The true genius, though, behind these beautiful baubles designed by sisters Tricia & Cherry, is the ability to match them with almost any wedding style. Fantastic! Get your own pair, here, and be sure to check out StellinaStellina later today for my Santa Barbara Chic glitzpick driven Inspiration Board.

I’m loving turquoise accessories lately. Its just the perfect pop of color to liven up an outfit. I’m loving these chunky sandals, they would be so cute with a pair of jeans and they even look pretty comfortable.

anthro_purse

I’m really into across the body purses lately (so functional, especially when you’re traveling). How adorable is this one?

These earrings remind me of the water, the graduation of blues and turquoise is so darn pretty. And of course all of these are from Anthropologie, the best store ever.

glitzpic3[1]

A girl (especially this girl) can always use a little Tiffany’s. Having set the standard for silver, and for gracing the estates of royalty for over a century, what’s not to love about Tiffany’s (and this amazing ring?!) 18kgold  in the shape of a giant heart…a definite statement piece, perfect for the more eccentric bride-to-be (oh yeah, and me please…Tiffany’s, if your reading this, I’m a size 5)!

Welcome to Glitzpick! I love jewelry and I thought everyone could use a little help accessorizing their wedding dress. Ama’li is the genius behind this gorgeous pair of moonstone & pearl drop earrings. Set with 18k gold chain, these would be an absolutely breathtaking addition to any wedding gown.

Compliment the earrings above with this exquisite, garden-fence-inspired, gold bracelet from Tiffany’s. Pure romance!

Anthropologie Wedding- Ceremony

Monday, March 15th, 2010

The inspiration for the ceremony was those paper chains we all made in kindergarten. Instead of paper, I used grosgrain ribbon which has a beautiful subtle sheen to it that I just love.

Cynthia and I made about 540 loops to achieve the effect I was going for.

I thought the effect was so pretty and magical!

Anthropologie Wedding- The Bride

Monday, March 15th, 2010

©kirstenellis250

I borrowed a dress from Alina Pizzano for my bride. It was a light, light, pink with a brocade texture to the fabric. I love the cut, with its sweet heart neckline and simple train.

©kirstenellis098

For styling, I added a light blue grosgrain ribbon to the waist of the dress.

©kirstenellis234

For her bouquet I used white ranunculus, paper whites, muscari, berzilla balls, and queen anne’s lace.

©kirstenellis018

In her hair, a simple piece of aqua netting was tied into a headband.

I found this killer vintage necklace in Paso Robles after I finished a site visit with one of my brides. I love the slightly art deco feel it has and the aqua color is to die for!

Cup o’ Jewels

cupofjewels

To me, there is nothing more glamorous than a delicate tea cup filled with jewelry. Paired with soft pink peonies or roses, the look is just darn pretty.

Of course you’ll need an equally fabulous vanity to hold these jems.

aroseisarose_hazel&harlow

Today I’d like to welcome a new sponsor to the blog, Hazel & Harlow! I love the rough, organic texture of these rose rings, which are available here. I think these would make a lovely anniversary present.

swallow_necklace_hazel&harlow

Likewise, I love this swallow pendant with white and green topaz stones.

And this is quite the lucky horseshoe! I love the delicate filigree work. This would make the perfect lucky charm for a bride on her wedding day. To check out the full Hazel & Harlow line click here.

vintage_ring_sarahrhoads

I do love this vingtage ring photo by Sarah Rhoads. But then, I’m a sucker for anything vintage!

I think this will be the last ring post for a while. I’m toying with some ideas, but I think most likely Friday’s will be my day to present some of my favorite food photography.
