I love this unexpected color palatte of aqua and red and it just seemed just so appropriate for a California Christmas/holiday table…

For flowers, I used shades of crismon and red with hints of purple. I don’t usually like red roses, but these cabbage roses are kind of amazing.

To me there’s nothing better than a serious piece of estate jewelry, especially when its a stunner like this art deco ring. I’m seriously obsessed with this ring and its for sale at 33 Jewels if anyone’s on the market for a seriously showstopping engagement ring.

I made this bouquet to go with the ring… its a soft cascadeing bouquet made up of hellebores and queen anne’s lace.

Would you rock an estate piece of jewely for your engagement or wedding ring?

I love making bouquets… there’s just something so fun about making the bride’s most important accessory on her wedding day. I personally, love bouquets full of color and texture. For the the Vibrant Winery Wedding I used orange lollipop dahlias, pink garden roses, scabiosa pods (love them), sweet veronica, and pink garden roses.

What kind of flowers would you carry on your wedding day?

I created this bouquet for a Bohemian themed photo shoot recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes.

Mixed with Bohemian green and gold jewelry and a lace dress, I would say the combo is down right pretty!

I love ranunculus… they are such a happy flower!

So delicate and feminine…

I love them mixed in with roses and peonies or just on their own…

And a touch of gray is always a nice accent.

Fifty Flowers approached me to do a little photo shoot using their fun Christmas Carnation Flower Pack.

I used a seersucker runner and then created a garland down the table of ornaments and red and white carnations.

I love the way ornaments reflect light!

I used some fun soda pop cans in my color scheme of red and white.

Above, I hung ornaments at different heights.

Votive candles added a lovely glow.

For a favor, homemade peanut brittle in mason jars with seersucker detail, adds a tasty touch along with festive presents.

I bought some fall inspired flowers for my office this week. And I’m loving the red ranunculus & dahlias in my old bottles (this look is going to be used for an upcoming event!).

I also bought pumpkin branch, which I’ve never worked with before. It has some serious thorns, but the pumpkins are so cute!

I love billy balls for their fun and whimsical shape (plus they last forever). Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I bought some garden roses yesterday (from a rose farm no less) to put in my office and I used some of my vintage bottles as bud vases. I’m in love with the slight green color of old glass, not to mention a lot of them have funny messages on them like “makes 5 gallons of drink.”

The books are left over decor for a recent wedding and I love them. I have a thing for books, especially old books and several stacks have made their home in my office.

The roses make my office smell amazing and there’s nothing quite like a pretty vignette to make my work day less stressful. Happy Wednesday!

Sorry for the late post! I’m helping Ms. Megan with her gallery show and spent the morning flower shopping and arranging (it was rough, but I got through it).

The look I was going for was modern with lots of texture and dimension.

I love the scabiosa pods aren’t they fun?

Megan has a tentacle theme going on for the show (ie a 6′ tall octupus decal) so I tried to mimic that shape in the buffet arrangement. Ok, off to install the event, excited to see all her paper art in one place!

The inspiration for the ceremony was those paper chains we all made in kindergarten. Instead of paper, I used grosgrain ribbon which has a beautiful subtle sheen to it that I just love.

Cynthia and I made about 540 loops to achieve the effect I was going for.

I thought the effect was so pretty and magical!
