Spotlight: Blue Magnolia

A few weeks ago I had a chance to meet with Kirsten of Blue Magnolia. She’s a doll and the local florist to the stars (and we’re working together soon, so excited!). And she just opened the most adorable floral shop in Summerland.

I stopped by her grand opening event this past Saturday and its really too sweet for words. I mean, milk glass for sale? Yes, please.

Here is some of her recent stunning work, shot by Kirsten Ellis of Beaux Arts Photographie. I love the orchids and soft purple glass, so pretty.

Spotlight: Cody Florals

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Laura Sangas of Cody Floral Design. I simply adore these modern tabletops she did for a showcase at the Santa Barbara Polo Fields. I love the bright, summery colors, and how she used the split down the tables to act as a holder for the tall papyrus. Its both dramatic and functional.

I also love the poesys of calla lilies wrapped with wire because:

1. I’m obsessed with callas lilies.

2. I love when an interesting and different material is combined with flowers.

Spotlight: Camilla Svensson Burns

On Saturday I met with Camilla at the Biltmore and she showed some of photos of her gorgeous work. Her style is versatile, but her passion for color is obvious.

I particular love this bouquet of roses and various orchids. The feel is glamorous with a rustic edge to it.

I also love the simplicity of the boutonnière above, especially since it features callas and fiddleheads ferns which are my favorite. Camilla works throughout the Santa Barbara area, Ojai and up to Paso Robles.

Spotlight: Modern Day Designs

I met Camille of Modern Day Designs last week and she is such a nice lady with a great eye. She shares the similar sentiment with me about flowers, more is not always more. I love the simple aisle decoration below that demonstrates this point.

I also love the fall-ish centerpieces with copper branch detail. Again, the work shows restraint and focus, two things I always look for in a good florist.
