Martha Stewart Weddings Party + Smilebooth

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Boy, oh boy, did we have an amazing time in New York! It was fantastic. The Martha Stewart Weddings party was one of my favorite things we did. As soon as we checked our coats, Martha Stewart walked right by us! The food at the event was great, the music was fun, and I got to meet Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper and Emily from Once Wed. What a pleasure!

Here’s a photo we took with Nole! I personally loved the photobooth so much that I went back through a few more times…

This past Wednesday I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Vera Wang Fall 2010 show. In the above dress, I loved how the fabric was layered asymmetrically to create volume, and in person, you could really see the huge amount of detail and craftsmanship that goes into each dress.

I love how the bands of fabric swirl from top to bottom to create the shape of the dress. Also, the asymmetrical neckline and beading on the belt really enhance the subtle s-shape of the dress.

The simplest dress shown was this one-shoulder column dress. I love the crisscross pattern on the bodice!

The layers of cut shredded fabric and the detail on this dress is just stunning. To me it looks like a modern take on feathers.

And of course, this collection had loads of black detail. I love the nude underlay of this black dress which softens the look; this is definitely an option for the fashion-forward bride.

The dress had layers of lace and pleated fabric. The detail was incredible, and oh so delicate.

I love the contrast of the structured bodice here with the net overlay. I absolutely adore the crisscross detail on the back of the dress.

This dress was a study in sculpting layers. I love the repetition of this theme throughout the collection. And oh yes, that’s me in the pink in the front row… I had to pinch myself several times to make sure I was really there.
