Yesterday morning I attended the Monique Lhuillier show and is was beyond words. The set design was made of  floating, white, birch trees and set the stage for the nature inspired designs.

Above was mine and Megan’s favorite dress by far. This picture really doesn’t capture this dress, Nightingale. The tulle illusion necklace had thoughtfully placed sparkles all over it and it was pure magic.

This flirty little mini dress, Iris, was the third one shown. With some colorful heels this is the perfect wedding dress for the party girl.

Monique also showed several dress with this a keyhole neckline. I really loved this dress, the neckline was like a necklace. I also loved the contrast of the structured beading with the flowly empire-waisted dress.

I loved this lace dress, the neckline is super flattering, and the slit adds a sexy touch without being too much.

Of course, Monique is know for her beautiful full shirt wedding dresses, and she did not disappoint on this front. The assymetrical shoulder and sculptural skirt of this dress, was the perfect mix of modern and traditional.

The petal details coupled with tulle overlay is so darn romantic.

The finale, the crowd went wild…

Runway Report: Wedding Dresses Fall 2009

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Fall 2009 wedding shows showed a lot of off the shoulder-styles, short wedding dress (finally!) and a lot of floaty ethereal-ness. I love the Romona Keveza gown (above, center), the color and the chic little belt are so sophisticated. (above left, Vera Wang, above right Vineyard Collection)

The top row is all by Monique Lhuillier. How floaty and pretty are her dresses? And finally, more short wedding dresses! Cute, flirty, and functional these options are adorable (second row, from left, Vineyard Collection, Reverie by Melissa Sweet, Melissa Sweet).
